As healthcare organizations are incorporating more and more IoT technologies throughout their networks, IoT cybersecurity is now a frontline concern for both IT leaders as well as the providers delivering patient care.
On Wednesday, February 20th, Critical Insight was honored with the opportunity to present to an international group of spinal physicians and tenured surgeons on the crucial importance of “Securing IoT – Essential Steps in Ensuring Patient Safety” during the Seattle Science Foundation Spine Conference.
CEO Garrett Silver, founders Fred Langston and Mike Hamilton, and Alan Frazier, founder and chairman of Frazier Healthcare, joined the SFF group to illuminate cybersecurity trends in medical IoT, risk management around IoT, and strategies to address medical IoT security as clinicians. Highlights included tips to improve IoT security in a healthcare environment, cyber risk management strategies, and methods to detect and respond to IoT security threats.
The Spine Conference sessions are targeted to all specialties and healthcare professionals, including surgeons, non-surgical spine physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, students, and administrative staff.
